KLATU Awarded European Patent for Measuring Effectiveness of Repairs in Refrigeration Assets
Patent Enables Quality of Repair Assessment and Long-Term Monitoring of Refrigeration System Performance

KLATU Networks announced today the award of its second European patent in the field of Predictive Failure analytics for mission-critical refrigeration systems. European Patent WO 2015/095887 titled "Managing the Effectiveness of Repairs in Refrigeration Assets" introduces the technology to monitor, evaluate, and verify the quality and persistence of refrigeration system repairs over time.

"This patent represents a significant advancement in refrigeration asset management," said Rick Kriss, President of KLATU Networks. "By benchmarking performance against optimal levels determined from historical data, we can now definitively measure repair effectiveness and ensure long-term persistence of those repairs."

The patented technology addresses a critical problem in the refrigeration and cold storage industry: the inability to objectively verify if repairs are truly effective. The system captures comprehensive performance data including temperature, electrical current, and mechanical sensors to establish a baseline for each refrigeration asset. After repairs, the system monitors the asset for a predefined period to determine if performance has returned to optimal levels, ensuring accountability from service providers.

Key features of the patented technology include:

  • Real-time monitoring of refrigeration assets pre- and post-repair

  • Performance benchmarking against optimal levels derived from historical data

  • Verification of repair effectiveness and persistence over time

  • Statistical analysis to identify patterns and predict potential failures

"Until now, facility managers had no way to objectively measure repair quality, often resulting in recurrent failures and wasted energy," explained Kriss. "This technology transforms how the industry approaches refrigeration maintenance, moving from reactive repairs to proactive, data-driven management."

This patent complements KLATU's growing portfolio of intellectual property in predictive maintenance analytics, reinforcing the company's leadership position in mission-critical refrigeration monitoring. KLATU's TRAXX platform incorporates these patented technologies, enabling Life Science organizations to achieve near-zero breakdown performance while reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.
